Stewardship
What is a Steward?
A steward is someone who recognizes that everything comes from God - who uses God's gifts in ways that reflect:
- Love for God
- Love for neighbor
- Love for self
- Love for this world that God creates and loves
(Mark 12:29-30; John 3:16)

What is Stewardship?
Stewardship is the work of God's people, growing spiritually, doing God's work with all that God has given them: time, talent and treasure, life itself, and the Good News of Jesus Christ;
It is God's people being the Church, working together, using all their gifts responsibly, joyfully and thankfully to do the work of the church, the mission of the church.
Stewardship at Saint Peter's
Currently there are four standing Stewardship committees. The chairs and co-chairs of the committees meet periodically to coordinate efforts and assure common mission.
- Time & Talent: runs the annual ministry fair and works with ministries that engage the time and talent of our members.
- Planned Giving: oversees the Keys Society of those who have informed us that they have remembered St. Peter's in their wills. It assists the rector in ministries related to end-of-life planning.
- 2010 Annual Appeal: drives efforts related to financial giving to the Parish in the form of pledges and tithing.
- Fundraising & Special Appeals: Operates parish-wide fundraising events and coordinates special appeals (within and outside St. Peters) under the guidance of the rector and vestry.
